11-16 Resources

Many 11-16 maths resources have been gathered together in Integral and 'scored' according to difficulty so you can choose activities appropriate to your students. These resources cover both specific topics and more general skills such as problem solving and modelling. Some activities are designed for independent or individual work while some are better suited to group work. You can click this button to log into Integral as a guest and see what's on offer.

You will find other 11-16 maths resources through the AMSP website.

AS/A level Mathematics Resources

You can find a range of problem solving resources, Mechanics resources, competition materials, groupwork problems and other enrichment material suitable for AS/A level Mathematics students through the AMSP website.

AS/A level Further Mathematics resources

You can find a range of videos and problem solving resources suitable for AS/A level Further Mathematics students through the AMSP website.

Other Sources of Materials

The following websites contain excellent materials for introducing and developing mathematical problem-solving skills:

Year 12 and 13 Problem Solving

including STEP, AEA and MAT preparation

FMSPW runs courses across Wales to support students who need to take problem solving examinations. To view support for university admissions tests please see the student events page.

Details of events can be found on the student events page.

Additional ideas and resources for lessons can be found in the Improving Learning in Mathematics: The 'Standards Unit' box and the The Shell Centre resources. These are hosted in the STEM e-library and you may need to register with the STEM Centre; this is free.

Enrichment Events

Each year the FMSPW organises enrichment events that are attended by Key Stage 4 and 5 students, these are often at local universities but can also take place in schools and colleges. The events provide a taste of mathematics beyond GCSE and stimulate students' interest in mathematics. In addition FMSPW Area Coordinators visit and organise events in schools and colleges to promote mathematics, including enrichment experiences and heats of the FMSPW Senior Team Mathematics Challenge.

Details of events will be sent to schools/colleges registered with the FMSPW or please check the student events page for dates of upcoming events.

If you want to arrange an in-school enrichment experience for your school please contact your local FMSPW Area Coordinator.
