The FMSP Wales provides tuition to students who cannot access WJEC Further Mathematics modules through their school or college. If you have students who would like to study Further Mathematics, you can arrange tuition via the FMSP Wales. For the 2021/22 academic year applications are welcome from Year 12 and Year 13 students.

Units on offer – FM Unit 1 (Further Pure), FM Unit 2 (Statistics) and FM Unit 3 (Mechanics), FM Unit 4 (Further Pure), Unit 5 (Statistics), Unit 6 (Mechanics). Students who will complete a full A-level in Further Maths will have to complete either Unit 5 (Statistics) or Unit 6 (Mechanics).

Tuition start dates – Autumn term tuition starts in October. Spring term tuition starts in January. Early/late start can be arranged for schools when three or more students are taking the same module.

Tuition cost – Units 1-3 will be charged at £202.00 per module. Unit 4 will cost £364.00 and Unit 5 or Unit 6 will cost £242.00. Every student will receive approximately 16 contact hours for each of Unit 2 (Statistics), Unit 3 (Mechanics), Unit 5 (Further Statistics) and Unit 6 (Further Mechanics). Each student will receive approximately 22 contact hours for each of Unit 1 (Pure) and for Unit 4 (Further Pure).

Where will tuition take place? Tuition will take place online and will include a blended learning approach. Who will provide students with books and study materials? Textbooks and study materials will be loaned by the FMSP Wales and will need to be returned by the end of July each year. Students will also receive free access to on-line Integral resources. Is there a minimum number of students needed to be enrolled per school? No, you can enrol as many or few students as you need. Is there a minimum number of modules each student should enrol for? Students must take 3 modules to receive an AS qualification and another 2 modules to receive a full A-level qualification. You can enrol students to study with the FMSP Wales for one or more modules depending on whether you can provide some of the modules “in house”
