We are delighted to offer students across Wales the opportunity to develop further their problem solving and critical thinking skills within the context of mathematics. This series will be delivered as a series of eight asynchronous videos, each lasting about one hour and delivered by experienced tutors.

7th February | Algebra | Sequences and series/Polynomials |
21st February | Number | Prime factors and logarithms |
7th March | Calculus | Curve sketching and differentiation/integration |
21st March | Further Geometry and Combinatorics | Trigonometry/ Binomial series |
11th April | MAT 1 | Introduction and Algebra |
25th April | MAT 2 | Geometry and Calculus |
The last two videos will focus on the Maths Admission Test (MAT) which is required by the University of Oxford for students applying for Mathematics or Computer Sciences degree, it is also used by Imperial College and the Universities of Bath; Durham and Warwick and is taken in November 2022. The methods and approaches to the paper are also appropriate for students who may be asked for the Test of Mathematics for University admission (TMUA: Bath; Cardiff; Durham; Lancaster; LSE; Nottingham; Sheffield; Southampton and Warwick). Further it will give students who are interested in applications to degree courses in Engineering; Medicine or Physics the skills to address the mathematical content of the admissions tests which may be asked for (ENGAA; BMAT; PAT…).
All eight videos will be available bilingually.
It is intended to offer students further support in preparing for these admission tests during the early part of the autumn term 2022, these sessions will be live with access to the recordings available to those students whose other commitments prevent them from joining the session.
